You are not supposed to hang out long time in there. Vitek: You need to be very straightforward in this map. This way you can pick the weakest and least useful once instead of losing some more important. If you still get into financial trouble dismiss units yourself instead of letting them desert you. If you go straight then your money should suffice and you can even afford to buy the goblin town up there.
So head north at once, if you want capture some income structures but do not deviate from your path with your main army and if you fight something before enemy leader, makes sure to keep the beetle alive because it is your only unit in that map that can take down walls and enemy leader is hiding behind palisade. I could do it even faster if I ignored all structures and enemy armies and went straight for the leader. I tried it now and I finished it on day 7. Then you should quickly proceed north and assasinate the elven leader, not to conquer whole map. If you are not aware of it, the beetle you get can dig through dirt (the light brown underground walls) and you are supposed to do it here and go out through northern entrance. Quickly capture structures with the less important creatures but with your army head out of underground immediately. You need to be very straightforward in this map.
